Services held at Edgeworth for Mrs. Salley

Last rites for Mrs. Ida Jane Shumate (sp) Salley were conducted from the Edgeworth Baptist Church in Webster County. Rev. J. B. Middleton, Rev. Emmitt Carpenter and Rev. W. M. Hull officiated.

Mrs. Salley succumbed Sunday, September 13th, following a lengthy illness at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. R. M. Riley of Duck Hill.

Mrs. Salley was born March 3, 1878 in Webster County and was married to Charlie E. Salley, who predeceased her. She was a member of the Harmony Baptist Church in Alva.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Riley, Mrs. J. E. Patridge, Winona, Mrs. Lee Shaw, Eupora and Mrs. Leo Stafford of West Memphis, Arkansas, four sons, Oscar Salley, Revere, Mass., Melvin Salley, Eupora, lrby Salley, Emhurst, ILL., Carroll Salley, Duck Hill; two sisters, Mrs. Willie Beck and Mrs. Jessie Beck both of Eupora; 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers were W. E. Britt, Charles Raper, H. H. Wood, Alf Wood, Jeff Kirk, Ralph Moore.

Interment was in the church cemetery under the direction of Oliver Funeral Home.
