Theodosia Hook Dies Saturday; Services Monday
Funeral services for Mrs. Theodosia Hook, 89, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Phillips & Luckey Chapel with burial in the Murray Cemetery near Rockdale. The Rev. D. D. Simpson, First Baptist minister of Rockdale, officiated.
Mrs. Hook died at 2:01 p.m. Saturday in Richards Hospital after several months of illness. She had lived in Rockdale for the past 66 years.
Mrs. Hook was born June 26, 1878 in Alabama to the late Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Gist. She was married to John T. Hook on January 8, 1898 in the Lilac community. Mr. Hook died in April of 1942. Mrs. Hook was proceeded in death by three sons, Joseph, Robert and Albert.
Surviving are: one son, Claude Hook of Newton, Kansas; three daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Kraatz, and Mrs. Lillie McDonald, both of Rockdale, and Mrs. Tressie Spague of Corpus Christi; 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
