She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Bert Parmer whom she met while working in New Boston, Texas. Her compassion and love for others was unlike anyone else's in the world. The love and devotion given to her family took up the majority of her time, however, her home was always open to anyone who wanted to stop by, and therefore, it was never empty. If she liked you she would treat you like royalty but cross one of her boys and you would rather deal with the Marines. A world traveler, self-taught piano and organ player, she played the piano for her Sunday School Class; an avid rancher and proper steward of the land; she loved Colorado and its Mountains. A member of Asbury United Methodist Church for 56 years she was also a lifetime member of the PTA and Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Assoc. She was voted most athletic in High School where she won district in Tennis, Track and Volleyball. She took pride in her country, her state and the City of Houston, that she adored everything it had to offer. Over the past 10 years her passion was traveling with her son, Bryan, for his business, meeting the many friends and seeing all of the sites. Her loving family includes her sons, Rick Parmer and wife Debbie of Pearland, Tx.; Gary Parmer and wife Elena, Pasadena, Tx.; Ted Parmer and wife Kim, Waller, Tx.; David Parmer and wife Cathy, Friendswood, Tx.; Bryan Parmer and wife Rhonda, Pasadena, Tx.; sisters, Verna Runnels, Texarkana and Gladys Cherry, Dallas; brother Charles Hopkins and wife Kathleen, New Boston, Tx.; 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
