John Deines
John Deines, 87, of Berthoud, died Jan. 8, 1998, at Sierra Vista Health Care Center in Loveland.
He was born April 11, 1910, in Monte Vista, Calif., to Adam and Elizabeth Hohnstein Deines.
He married Helen Eustace Nov. 29, 1968.
He was a farmer and moved to a farm west of Berthoud when he was 5 years old. He lived there until his retirement in 1992.
He was a past member of the Grange in the Berthoud area and the First Presbyterian Church in Berthoud. He was also a 4-H leader.
He is survived by his wife, Helen Deines of Berthoud; a brother, George Deines of Longmont; a sister, Pauline Krieger and husband John of Berthoud; grandson John David Deines of Longmont; his wife’s children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Norman Deines, in 1996.
Visitation will be 1-5 p.m. Sunday at Ahlberg Funeral Chapel 326 Terry St. Longmont. There will be no viewing at the memorial service.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Eight Street and Massachusetts, Berthoud.
Private burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Berthoud.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Berthoud in care of Ahlberg Funeral Chapel.
