Bobbie Gene Kirby
GREEN RIVER Bobbie Gene Kirby, 75, of 640 Evers St., Green River, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at the Sage View Care Center. A longtime resident of Green River and former resident of Rock Springs, Kirby had been in ill health for the past three years.
He was born on Feb. 8, 1931, in Higby, Mo., the son of Virgil and Recie O. Kirby.
Kirby attended schools in Rock Springs and was a graduate of Rock Springs High School in 1948.
He married Cleoma Jean Sheldon Skorcz on Nov. 13, 1970, in Rock Springs.
Kirby was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was employed at FMC for 39 years and retired as a gas operations field manager in 1991.
His interests included fishing, camping, spending time with his family, reading and exploring the back roads of Wyoming.
Survivors include his wife, Cleoma Jean Kirby of Green River; one son, Clifford Kirby of Glendale, Ariz.; two stepsons, Steven Skorcz and wife Scarlet of Rock Springs and Brent Skorcz and wife Brenda of Green River; two daughters, Gail Bacilla and husband Nick of Green River and Carrie Dietrich of Spokane, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Sandra Skorcz of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two sisters, Ruth Reese of Salt Lake City and Virgie LaRocque of Glenrock; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Recie.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2006, at the Green River Methodist Church, 410 Upland Way, Green River. Military graveside services and interment will be in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.
Friends and family may call at the Vase Flaming Gorge Chapel, 263 E. Flaming Gorge Way, Green River, on Sunday, June 25, 2006, from 4-8 p.m. and again on Monday at the church one hour prior to services.
