Alvin J. Ainsworth Sr., 84, of Olla, died at his residence on Saturday, May 4, 1991, after a brief illness.

He owned and operated Ainsworth's Grocery in Rosefield before his retirement. He was a fisherman and logger and a member of Rosefield Baptist Church.

Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Rosefield Baptist Church with the Revs. James Foster and Chris Meredith officiating.

Burial followed in Rosefield Cemetery under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Survivors include his wife Julia Curington Ainsworth of Olla; two sons,, Alvin J. Ainsworth Jr. of Olla and David Ainsworth of Ridgecrest; three daughters, Bertie Esters, Edith Kelly and Julia Powell, all of Olla; a sister, Alma Smith of Olla; a half-brother, Gelia Ainsworth of Olla; three half-sisters, Oleta Masters, Mettie Breithaupt and Gracie Anisworth, all of Jena; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
