Married Joseph in 1859 who became a Civil War Soldier & participated in Sherman's March to the Sea. He studied under Ephraim Root & became a leading carpenter in the area for churches, business buildings and barns around Bremen documented in A Biographical Record of Fairfield Co. He also was a farmer where he owned & operated a valuable tract of land that he cultivated.

In 1880, daughters Rebecca, Etta, Mary, Lulu (Louise) & Gertrude were at home. In 1881, they retired. They lived in Rushcreek Twp. in 1900.
