Edwin Hays, second son of Mr and Mrs Henry L Harrington died at their residence at twelve o'clock Wednesday May 28th after less than a week's illness.
For something less than ten years this promising boy has brightened the home, and his passing away is a great sorrow to the family especially to a brother, just older, who was his constant companion, and many relatives. All that medical skill could do was done for Edwin Hays, but his condition was critical from the first baffling and mysterious, and the little fellow was unable to give much aid for information, being delirious practically the whole time.
Funeral services were had from the residence 2:30 o'clock Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. E.M. Shaw and attended by a large number of sympathetic friends of the family, after which the remains were laid to rest in Houston Cemetery. Little school mates served as pallbearers and six little girl class mates acted as flower girls and carried the many beautiful floral offerings making it a very impressive service.
Much sympathy is felt for the sorrow stricken parents both of whom had been confined to their beds with mumps for the past week and were unable to attend the burial of their little son.
