William H. "Bill/Sport" Crews, 64, (b. 28 Jul 1935) of Atkinson died Wednesday (17 Nov 1999) at Southeast Georgia Regional Medical Center (in Brunswick).

The funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hoboken Baptist Church with the Rev. Wayne Manning officiating.

Burial followed at Hoboken Cemetery.

The family received friends Friday night at Chambless Funeral Home in Nahunta.

Pallbearers were Adam Carter, Eugene Carter, Wayne Harris, Stacy Walker, Warnell Brantley and Mickey Thompson.

His father was the late Simon "Sim" Crews.

Surviving are his wife, Betty Wright Crews of Atkinson; his mother IreneElizabeth (Crews) Crews of Nahunta; two daughters, Brenda Crosby of Brunswick and Pam McCarty of Hoboken; three sons, Danny Wright of Brunswick, John Crews of Jesup and Richard Crews of Atkinson; two sisters, Gwendolyn Moore and Frances Carter, both of Nahunta; four brothers, Dewitt Crews of Polk City, FL, Neal Crews of Hoboken, Eddie Crews of Atkinson and Joe Crews of Anderson, IN; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A native of Brantley County, he was employed by Dixon Timber Co. in Jesup. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Baptist.
