Betty Williamson was born Betty Jane Courtney on December 2, 1924 in Muncie, IN, and died Thurday morning, November 10, 2005 in Claremont, NH at the home of her daughter. She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Curwood "Puz" Williamson, who died May 26, 2004.

Betty Jane served in the Navy during World War II and retired from civil service at NAS Pensacola, FL. She traveled all over the world during military service and served as a missionary in Mexico, Beliz and Costa Rica.

Mrs. Williamson is survived by two daughters, Candee Drumm of Foley, AL, and Melodee Williamson of Claremont, NH; three grandchildren, Michael Padgett of Fairhope, AL, Susan Landry of Claremont, and John Hawkins of Long Island, NY; four great-grandchildren, and dear friends and caregivers, Dianne Lindsey of Claremont and Leroy Padgett of Fairhope, AL.

She and her husband will be laid to rest at the State of Vermont Veterans Cemetery in Randolph, VT on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at 1 p.m.

The Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St. in Claremont, NH, is in charge of arrangements.
