Mrs. Charles Ackerman of Michigan City, mother of Charles Ackerman of Porter, died Tuesday, October 22, at the home of her son, Albert Ackerman of Hibbard, Marshall county, where she had visited that last six weeks. Her death was caused by old age.
Mrs. Ackerman was born on June 22, 1833, in Rantfenhelm, Alsace-Lorraine, Germany, and came to this country more than 50 years ago. She had lived in Michigan City 37 years. Her husband died seven years ago, and since the time of his death has lived with her daughter, Mrs. J. C. Schwartz. The deceased is survived by the following children: Charles Ackerman, Porter, Mrs. Maggie Lester, Mrs. L. C. Nichols, Mrs. J. C. Norton and William Ackerman, Chicago, Mrs. J. C. Schwartz, Michigan City, and Albert Ackerman, Hibbard.
