He married Agnes Warren, daughter of Zachariah Warren and Agness White, on 15 April 1805 in Franklin County Vrginia, with Edmund Hendley Richards Sr. as surety.
John and Agnes moved in ca1814 to Tennessee along with his parents, the Richards, Warren, Jones, Maddox and England families out of Franklin County through the Cumberland Gap/Wilderness Road.
They settled in Tennessee [Robertson, Roane, & Morgan counties] for about 16 years, then most families moved north into Macoupin and Morgan Co IL ca 1828-30.
