Services for Elgin Berry, 83, Oakland, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2002, at Hilliard Funeral Home Chapel, Van, withBrother Lynn Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery under direction of Hilliard Funeral Home of Van. Mr. Berry died April 29, 2002 at his residence.
He was born May 28, 1918, in Colfax and lived most of his life in Van Zandt County. He was a retired welder for Ford Motor Co. of Dallas and served in the 27th Army Division as Platoon Sergeant during World War II.
Three brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Lula "Lou" Berry of Oakland; one step-sonand daughter-in-law, Jim and Jo Lynch of Rowlett; one daughter, Diane Berry of Canton; twin sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Pete Levy of Canton; and several grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
