Delamater, R. Spencer, 89, retired professional civil engineer, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2000. Visitation 6 to 8 p.m. today; service 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, both at Downing & Lahey Mortuary East.

Mr. Delamater attended Wichita University, graduated from Kansas State University with a degree in Engineering. Mr. Delamater was a lifetime member of the Downtown Lions Club, for over 50 years, a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, the Wichita Engineering Society, Wichita Scottish Rites, American Society of Civil Engineers and a member of the Republican Party.
Survivors: wife, Mildred; sister, Mary Elizabeth Delamater Cox of Springfield, Mo.; nephews, R. Terrance Cox of Columbia, Mo., Thomas S. Cox of Kansas City, Mo.; nieces, Marilyn Cox of Springfield, Mo., Jan Braden, Marydel Grayum both of Wichita. Memorial has been established with The Salvation Army, 350 N. Market, Wichita, Kan. 67202, Trinity Presbyterian Church, 2258 Marigold, Wichita, Kan. 67204, and Wichita-Sedgwick County Historical Museum Association, 204 S. Main, Wichita, Kan. 67202.
