Mary Drew "Lula" Eason
Mary Drew "Lula" Eason was reunited with her husband, Preston Jackson Eason, on November 7, 2003. She was born November 30, 1920, Wilmington, NC, the daughter of the late Byron and Mary Luola Lewis Drew. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Jackson Eason; three children, Benjamin Robert Eason, William Allen Eason, and Charles Eason; a great grandchild, Preston Mintz; one brother; and two sisters. .
Mrs. Eason had worked as a nurses assistant at James Walker Hospital and New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She attended Castle Hayne Church of God. .
She is survived her children, Duane Jackson of Florida, Jackie Rae Eason, Sr. and his wife Dixie of Burgaw, Agnes Marie Eason Floyd and husband Franklin of Leland, and Larry Arnold Eason and wife Mary Jo of Burgaw; two daughters-in-law, Alice Eason and Judy Eason; a special friend, Freddy Deil; 28 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren; and 39 great-great-grandchildren; also a brother, Billy Drew and wife Mary; and two sisters, Laura Ludlum and husband Wayne, and Betty Jean Morris and husband Arnold. .
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at the Castle Hayne Church of God by Rev. Andy Ottaway. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. .
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 PM at Andrews Market Street Chapel and at other times at Mrs. Eason's residence, 1704 Colon Mintz Rd., Leland. .
Memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, 1406 Physicians Dr, Wilmington, NC 28401. .
