Laura Lee Drew Ludlum, 93 of Southport passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Ludlum was born May 8, 1924 in Southport, the daughter of the late Charles Byron and Mary L. Drew. She was a member of Southport Baptist Church and had previously owned and operated Randy's Soda Shop. Mrs. Ludlum loved her family, and enjoyed crafts, sewing, baking and cooking.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Wayne Ludlum; two daughters Evelyn Teal Kesmodel and husband Marty, and Ellen Richards all of Southport; a sister Betty Morris; five grandchildren, Carolyn Garner and husband David, Daniel Butler, David Butler and wife Carolyn, Nicole Smith, and Natalie Aman and husband Chris; four great-grandchildren Nathaniel Taylor, Caleb Butler, Davis Smith, and Heidi Butler; and two great-greatgrandchildren, Brennan Taylor and Ashton Taylor.

Mrs. Ludlum was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Moore, a grandson Harold Perkins, two brothers, and three sisters.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday in the Southport Baptist Church Chapel with Reverend Charles Drew officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and at other times at the home.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Breege McCoy and Ramona Spencer for the excellent care given to Mrs. Ludlum as her caregivers, and to Lower Cape Fear Hospice for their care during this difficult time. The family has asked that memorial cotributions be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, NC 28422.
