Alice is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Ann and Ronald Sapieszko of Woodbury, MN; A grand-daughter, Lisa Sapieszko of Woodbury, MN; two sisters, Therese O'Connor of Bradenton, Fl., and Louise Giroux of Massena; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Jean LePage.
Alice was born August 19, 1916, in Ottawa, Ontario, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Elzire (Charbonneau) LePage. She moved to Massena in April of 1923. Alice graduated from Massena High School in 1934. She married Lewis John Hiter on June 27, 1936, at the Church of the Sacred Heart. Mr. Hiter predeceased her on February 7, 2001.
In June of 2004, Alice moved to Minnesota to be near her daughter and her family. She worked for the Massena School District, Alcoa, the State of New York, and retired from the Massena Memorial Hospital, Medical Records Department, in 1978.
She was a member of the Massena Vol. Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and the Massena Senior Citizens. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, crossword puzzles and bingo. She also loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends.
Memorial contributions may be St. Jude Children's Hospital, Massena Rescue Squad, or a charity of one's choice in Alice's memory.
Arrangements are under the directions of the Phillips Memorial Home, Massena.
