This would be my great grandmother. Her first husband was shot by a neighbor in a dispute over a fence line. She later married Hannis Wise of whom I have a very slight memory. I understand he was very nice. He lived his last years with my grand mother and her two daughters. He wanted my Mom to name her first daughter after his mother, Susan and his wife May. My mother did not like her grand mother and so my sister was named Susan and not given a middle name.

Mrs. Ophelia May Wise of Harmon passed away Monday evening at Oklahoma City. In August 1885, she married Thomas Morgan who preceded her in death July 27, 1909. To this union were born 12 children, 5 of whom have passed away. Seven children surviving are: Hiram Morgan, Emmett, Idaho; Arnold Morgan, Harmon; Thomas Morgan, Cedar Creek, Mo; Mrs Elsie Jennings, Union City; Mrs. Jennie Purdy, Durham; Mrs. Sylvia Odell, May; and Mrs. Luella Jackson, Laverne. She has 36 grand children and 13 great grandchildren.

In 1911 she was united in marriage to Hannis Wise, who survives.

Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Gage with the Reverand Lester Dyke, Latter Day Saints minister of Eagle City officiating. Burial will be in the Gage Cemetery with Chenoweth Mortuary handling.

Her parents

Joseph Cooper was the son of Henry and Ann Cooper of Sanilac, Michigan
