Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mrs. Elsie Jane Jennings 81 who died Tuesday at Park View Hospital.

The Reverand Michael J. Hanrahan, will officiate with burial in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Union City. Office of the dead will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born at Green Bush Michigan. She came to Gage in 1904, to Union City in 1938 and to El Reno in 1961. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church and St. Agnes Altar Society.

Survivors include daughters Kate Jennings, El Reno, Ellen Jennings, El Reno, Bessie Githens, El Reno, Annie Wiese, El Reno, Laura Cochran, El Reno, Margaret Miller, Woodward and Martha McAfee, Bakersfield, California, sons Joe Jennings, Lubbock Texas, and John Francis. two sisters, Sylvia O'Dell and Jennett Purdy of Buffalo Oklahoma, 17 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren.

Married February 19, 1910 in Woodward Oklahoma by Judge T.L. O'Bryan.

Her step-father was Hannis Wise

At the age of 16, she was living at Gage, Oklahoma. She was repairing a fence and was approached by a neighbor with whom the family was having a dispute. They had left and she had continued to repair the fence, when she saw them returning, she went into the house and asked her brothers to help her. Her father and her brothers went with her and while they continued to work on the fence, the neighbor and another person approached them again. Words led to gunfire and she saw her father and one of her brothers killed.
