Despite the date on the tombstone, her actual birth year was 1883. 1900 Census asked year and month of birth, and it reports Aug 1883. Ages in other censuses are inconsistent, but her age given in 1910 also matches 1883. Her death certificate also states 1883. So I believe the 1884 date on the tombstone is in error.
