Marcella Dechant, 76, of Brighton died on November 10, 2008 in Brighton.

She was born on May 26, 1932 in Scott City, Kansas to Jacob Weaver and Christina (Stremel) Weaver.

She attended local Brighton schools.

Marcella was married to Joseph Dechant by Father Roy Figlino at St. Augustine Catholic Church. They were married for 58 years.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Forty years ago she was paralyzed in a car accident leaving her to raise her children from her bedside. Marcella touched many lives

She is survived by her children, Kathy Goudy and Nancy J. Maple of Brighton, CO and Carol Ann Dechant of Loveland, CO; siblings, Hilda Eberle of Commerce City, CO, Rose Dout of Brighton, CO and Edward (Helen) Weaver of South Carolina. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Rosary is scheduled for Friday, November 14, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. both at St. Augustine Catholic Church, Brighton. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Brighton. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Joe M. Dechant, 88, of Brighton, passed away Nov. 5, 2013. at his home.

Born Dec. 11, 1924, in Ellis, Kan., to Pete and Mary (Kessler) Dechant, he served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1946 as Tank Driver.

Joe later married Marcella Weaver on April 25, 1950.

He attended St. Augustine Catholic Church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the VFW.

Joe is survived by his children, Kathy Goudy and Carol Dechant; three grandchildren, Jim Goudy, Pam Mang and Jennifer Griego; six great-grandchildren, Steven Mang, Chris Mang, Chantelle Griego, Gage Griego, Lorisa Leipold and Amelia Leipold.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marcella, and daughter, Nancy Maple. A

Rosary Service was held Monday, Nov. 11, 2013, at Tabor-Rice Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2013, at St. Augustine Catholic Church. Interment followed at Elmwood Cemetery. Tabor-Rice Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
