Andy Lewis, 50, well known resident of Brownsboro, died at his home there Sunday night following a brief illness. His death followed complications which originated from a carbuncle.
Funeral services were held on Monday at the Asbury cemetery North of Opelika.
Deceased was a native of the Shady Grove community and had spent most of his life in Eastern Henderson county. He formerly operated a restaurant at Brownsboro and shortly after the discovery of oil at Flag Lake in North-western Henderson county he opened a café in the oil field area, later closing it and returning to Brownsboro to engage in farming.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters. A sister, Miss Mary Lewis of Brownsboro, also is among the survivors.
Mr. Lewis was a son of the late Dick Lewis of the Shady Grove community. He has a large number of relatives in the Eastern half of Henderson county.
