Jeremy A. Selby, 21, of 5010 N. Sheridan Road, Peoria, passed away at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

He was born in Pekin on Sept. 20, 1987, to Ronald A. and Debra K. Simpkins Selby.

He is survived by his father, R. Allen (Faye) Selby, mother, Debra K. Selby, and sister, Danielle L. Selby, all of Pekin; grandparents, Harley (Charlotte) Simpkins of Mesa, Ariz., Ronald (Phyllis) Selby of South Carolina; uncles, Brad (Jan) Simpkins of Pekin, Steven (Deborah) Selby of Athens, Ill., and Phillip Selby of Springfield, Mo.; and aunts, Melissa Rainsford of Phoenix, Ariz., April (Chuck) Benkiel of Streamwood, Ill., and Kelley Lee and Angela Prosser, both of Goose Creek, S.C. Jeremy also leaves behind his 12 cousins and girlfriend, Annalisa Goggil of East Peoria.

His grandmother, Shirley Simpkins, preceded him in death.

He attended Illinois Central College for two years and worked for Philippi-Hagenbach Inc. in Peoria as a designer of off-road mining equipment.

A funeral service will be held for Jeremy at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 19, at Abts Mortuary in Pekin. The Rev. Tim Collard will officiate. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service Monday, also at Abts Mortuary. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin following the service.
