JO ANNE REESE STEVENS

Funeral services for Jo Anne Reese Stevens were conducted Thursday, Sept. 5, 1991 at the LDS Church, 2055 Edgar St. Bishop Clay Baird conducted the services. Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Kevin Dunn, Richard Smith, Brad Smith, Timothy Reese, Tom Gerrard and Evan Reese.

Mrs. Stevens, 55, of 1948 Edgar St., Rock Springs, died at 7 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 1, 1991 at her summer home in Pinedale, following a lengthy illness.

Having multiple sclerosis since 1959, Mrs. Stevens had been totally disabled for many years. She was born in Rock Springs April 29, 1936 to Evan Jacob and Hubertine Josephine La Croix Reese. She attended schools in Rock Springs and in 1953 attended Wyoming Girls State. Mrs. Stevens was a graduate of the Rock Springs High School class of 1954. She later married Donald D. Stevens in Rock Springs June 12, 1954, and their marriage was sealed in the Salt lake City Temple on Dec. 9, 1955. Mrs. Stevens worked at the Lincoln School as a teacher’s aide for several years prior to her disability. She was a member of the LDS Church where she was active, having held many positions throughout the years.

Survivors include her husband, Donald D. Stevens of Rock Springs, her mother, Hubertine Josephine La Croix Reese of Rock springs; two sons, David E. Stevens of Coral Springs, Fla. and Paul D. Stevens of Pinedale; tow daughters, Linda Jo Stevens of Rock springs and Dee Anne Stevens Evans of Salt Lake City; one sister, Mrs. Vic (Catherine) Cundy of Rock springs; one sister-in-law, Ruth A. Reese of Salt lake City; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Stevens was preceded in death by her father, Evan Jacob Reese; a son, Brent Edward Stevens in 1972 and a brother, Evan H. Reese.
