John L. Kingery, 86, of Wellington died Wednesday, Sept. 11, 1996, after several months of illness. Born on August 28, 1910 in Indiana. John lived in Wellington for several years. He retired from Ford Motor Company in Brookport after 22 years and was retired from the US Army as a full Colonel after serving 26 years. John was a member of the Congregational Church in Wellington, Ohio, a member of the Masonic Lodge #381 in Litchfield, Ohio, and a member of the National Rifle Association and the Southern Lorain County Gun Club. He enjoyed his hobby as a gunsmith.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine Riddle Kingery, of Wellington; daughter, Carol Baker of Medina; son, Jerry Kingery of Newport News, Virginia; eight step-children; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; 24 step-grandchildren; 37 step-great grandchildren; a sister, Helen Justice of Indiana and brother Harold Kingery of Blue Island, Illinois.

Funeral services were held Saturday, September 14, at Norton Funeral Home, Wellington with Rev. David Shimp officating. Burial was held at Litchfield Township Cemetery in Litchfield, Ohio.
