Audrey Vernell Lawrence (Nell) Kimberl, 98, passed away quietly in her sleep on August 3, 2014, in Raleigh, NC. Mrs. Kimberl was born in Excel, AL. on October 26, 1915. After graduating from Excel High School, she met and married Clarence Kimberl of Monroeville, AL. The couple moved to Talladega, AL. where they lived until returning to Monroeville in 1963.

Mrs. Kimberl was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monroeville, AL. She was active in her Sunday school class, the women's WMU and worship services. Mrs. Kimberl was a member of the garden club and was honored a lifetime membership. She was a long time member of the hospital auxilliary and worked as a volunteer in the hospital's gift shop for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Clarence Kimberl, and son, Darrell Sterling Kimberl.

Mrs. Kimberl is survived by a son, Mike (Jo) Kimberl of Monroeville; a daughter-in-law, Hilma Kimberl of Mexia; a daughter Marilyn (Jim) Kendrick of Raleigh, NC; a sister, Mazie Sawyer of Monroeville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Kimberl was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all.

Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Monroeville on Friday, August 8, 2014. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by services at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow in Mexia Cemetery. Johnson Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
