Mrs. Mamie A. Hudson, 86, of Deer Creek Road, Casar, N.C. died Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Britthaven of Morganton, N.C.

Born in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Zeb and Mandy Hudson.
Mrs. Hudson retired from Crestline Furniture and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

She is survived by four sons, Clyde Hudson, Roy Hudson and Ray Hudson, all of Casar and Joe Hudson of Lawndale; three daughters, Earlene Chapman of Lawndale and Faye Smith and Janice Brown, both of Casar; brothers, Judy Hudson, Tom Hudson and Ed Hudson, all of Casar; sister, Ida Moses of Casar; 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lester Hudson; three sons, Gene, Marvin and Austin Jr. Hudson; four brothers, Grover, Odus, Zebbie and George Hudson; and a sister, Sarah Downs.

The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Sam Snyder, John Hudson and Jamie Bridges officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Stamey Funeral Home in Fallston.
