Grasson Wilson Barnard, Corpus Christi, Texas, died Sunday, Dec 1, at Humana Hospital in Corpus Christi. He was 82 years old.
He was born March 3, 1903, in Kansas to Irvin and Mimie DeWitt Barnard. He lived west of Humboldt until 1951 when he moved to Independence where he worked as a welder for Wilder Petroleum Company for 35 years.
Survivors include sons Leon of Laguna Beach, Calif., and Carter of Denver Colo.; two daughters, Peggy Fenton and Gay Mechols, both of Corpus Christi; a sister, Luella Powell of Iola; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
