Lillian was the youngest of six children of William H. Shoudt and Ella A. Whitman Shoudt. She grew up in Upper Black Eddy (Bridgeton Twp.), Bucks Co., Pennsylvania and lived there for most of her life.
She married Frank Pursell, and the couple had at least one son.
Lillian spent the last years of her life at the Phoebe Devitt Nursing Home, Allentown, Northampton Co., Pennsylvania. She passed away at the South Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin.
