James Darell Smith, 80, of Austin, Texas passed away Jan. 19, 2009, at a Austin hospital. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, at Rosenthal Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Newman officiating. Burial will follow at Rosenthal Cemetery.
James was born in McLennan County, to the late Drury Seymore Smith and Leola Barrington Smith. He was a resident of Austin State School for many years. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Eunice and Robert McVey.
James is survived by sisters, Joyce Moore, of Ft. Worth, and Dorris Smith, of Bosqueville; brothers, Bill Smith and wife, Shirley, of Billingsley, Ala., Clyde Smith and wife, Millie, of Waco, and John Smith and wife, Carol, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins; and friends of the Austin State School.
