James was born in McLennan County, to the late Drury Seymore Smith and Leola Barrington Smith. He was a resident of Austin State School for many years. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by a special aunt and uncle, Eunice and Robert McVey.
James is survived by sisters, Joyce Moore, of Ft. Worth, and Dorris Smith, of Bosqueville; brothers, Bill Smith and wife, Shirley, of Billingsley, Ala., Clyde Smith and wife, Millie, of Waco, and John Smith and wife, Carol, of Siloam Springs, Ark.; and several nieces, nephews, cousins; and friends of the Austin State School.
