Charlotte Newlan was a daughter of Joseph Newlan (1812-1896) and Sarah Ann Jones (1822-1957).
She married Ward Eldred in Christian Co., IL, Aug. 27, 1869, where they were enumerated in the 1870 census before arriving in Liberty Twp., Coffey Co., KS, about 1872.
They had eight children, but the names of only five children are known.
