MATTIE M. BRITT

Mattie Messervy Britt, 80, of Meggett, a retired office clerk for Ocean City Life Insurance Co., died Sunday in a Georgetown hospital. The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today in Calvary Baptist Church, Meggett. Burial, directed by Stuhr's Downtown Chapel, will be in St. Paul's Episcopal churchyard.

Mrs. Britt was born in Meggett, a daughter of Thomas W. Messervy and Mattie Behling Messervy. She was a graduate of St. Paul's High School and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She was the widow of Ernest M. Britt.

Surving are a daughter, Martha B. Mixson of Meggett; two brothers, Luder C. Messervy of John's Island and Edward B. Messervy of Meggett; three sisters,Hilmer M. Bair, Addie M. Bair and Dorothy M. Harrison, all of Meggett; and three grandchildren and a great-grand-child.
