Mary Virginia Thompson, 77 of Paragould died Friday at Arkansas Methodist Medical Center. She was retired from Emerson Electric after 26 years and was a Wal-Mart Associate for 13 1/2 years. She was a member of the New Haven Baptist Church. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, James Luther and Cora Lilly Gramling Shipman, daughter, Judy Carol Howell; sisters, Sybil Stroud, Deronda Sheeks, Lucille Shipman, Nadine Turner, Betty Lou Shipman; brother, J. M. Shipman. Survivors include her husband, Leon Thompson of the home, sons, Danny and Stevan Thompson of Paragould; daughters and sons-in-law, Faye and Morris Hatcher and Debbie and Dennis Davis both of Paragould; brothers, Jerry Shipman of Paragould, James Shipman of Evening star and Lee Shipman of Arizona; sisters, Patricia Lenderman and Fannie B. Lenderman both of Paragould. 27 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 6:00-8:00 at Heath Funeral Home. Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Ron Pickney officiating. The family has requested that memorials be sent to the New Haven Baptist Church.
