Mrs. Barbara Ann Lathrop, 86, of 512 N. Adams St., died Friday at 5:15 p.m. at St. Joseph Hopital.
The daughter of William and Nancy (Guffy) West, she was born July 4, 1883, in Schuyler County, Mo., She had lived in Ottumwa most of her life and was a charter member of First Church of the Nazarene.
Her marriage to Leonard Lathrop took place June 27, 1927, in Oskaloosa. He died Aug. 7, 1947. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Mrs. Mary Robertson, three sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Fay Merryfield of Evanston, Wyo., and Mrs. Beatrice Berry, Mrs. Leona Strain and Mrs. Naomi Riggs, all of Ottumwa; one son, Lester Bishop of Sioux City; 18 grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Marietta Howard of Ottumwa.
Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. James L. Matthews of the First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons.
