OBITUARY, Connersville [IN] News-Examiner, Tuesday, December 21, 1937:
William Emsweller, Jr., 66, retired contractor, died at 8 a.m. today at his home, 331 North DeQuincy Street, Indianapolis, following a several months' illness. He was born near Andersonville, a son of the late Marion and Josephine Nelson Emsweller, and had lived in Franklin and Rush counties until going to Indianapolis for residence several years ago.
Survivors are the widow, Rose May Osborne Emsweller; three sons, Cleo of Terre Haute, Doyle of Laurel, and Gilbert of Indianapolis; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Miller of near Rushville and Mrs. Carlyle Miller, of Indianapolis; two brothers, Arthur of Buena Vista and Jesse of Metamora; two sisters, Mrs. Roy Vail, Clarksburg, and Mrs. Alex Davidson of Metamora; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m.; Thursday in the Andersonville U. B. church with the Rev. Walter Crawley officiating. Burial will be in the Hopewell cemetery. Friends may call at the Moster Mortuary in Rushville beginning Wednesday morning and until the cortege leaves for the church.
