A native of Brantley County, he was the son of the late Perry Crews and Verona Morgan Crews and was a heavy equipment operator with Plum Creek.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Crews, of Nahunta; two sons, Buck Crews (Annette) and Barney Thrift, both of Nahunta; two sisters, Libby Brooker, of Nahunta, and Maxine Cone, of Greenville, Fla.; one brother, J.D. Crews, of Kingsland; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives.
A funeral will be held at the chapel of Joel Chambless Funeral Home this morning at 11, July 3, 2006, with the Rev. E.H. Morgan, Paul Rhoden and Leon Wilson officiating.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Cleve Wilson, Jack Wilson, Renade Wilson, Chris Wilson, Odie Crews and Tommy Purdom.
