Graveside services for A.L. Garner, 68, a lifelong resident of Albany, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday May 24th, 2008, at the Garner Family Cemetery in Albany, Oklahoma. Rev. Carrell Hooper will officiate, Garner passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008, at the Medical Center of Southeastern Oklahoma.
Garner was born Tuesday, July 4, 1939, in Albany to Charlie A. and Pearline B. (Flinn) Garner He married Margaret E. James on Oct. 11, 1973, in Jonesboro, GA. He was a retired R.V. mechanic and attended the Nazarene Church.
Garner was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Pearline Garner, brother Charlie A. Garner,Jr. and sister, Dorothea M. Garner.
He is survived by his wife of the home; daughter Barbara Gale (Garner) Woods of Balch Springs, Texas; sons A.L. Garner,Jr (Skipper) and Charles Evans Garner, both of Dallas, Texas; sisters Frances Parish of Bullhead City, Arizona, Lily Williams of Log Cabin, Texas, Carol Hyten of Mesquite, Texas and Elizabeth McNeil of Duncanville, Texas; brothers Jerold Garner of Albany, Oklahoma and John Garner of Mesquite, Texas; foster son Paul Bowen of Phoenix, Arizona, and 3 grandchildren and 1 great grandauthter.
