OBITUARY, Rushville [IN] Republican, Tuesday, September 14, 1937:

Frank L. Croddy, 81, Dies Monday Night

Frank L. Croddy, 81 died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Birney [sic] Pruet, southeast of this city, Monday at 7:45 p.m. Mr. Croddy had been seriously ill since last Friday.

He was a member of the Clarksburg Odd Fellows lodge for forty years and also a member of the Methodist church southeast of Andersonville.

Survivors are: one son, John Croddy of Franklin county; three daughters, Mrs. Birney Pruet, Mrs. Bertha French, and Mrs. Clem Pruet, of Connersville; one brother, A. J. Croddy of Blair, Nebraska; five sisters, Mrs. Ella Smith of Anderson, Mrs. Anna Clark of Andersonville, Mrs. Stella Davison of Laurel, and Mrs. Kate French of this city. Eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at the U. B. church in Andersonville at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow at the Hopewell cemetery. Services will be in charge of the Rev. Walter Crawley of Falmouth. Friends may call at the home of Mrs. Birney Pruet any time preceding the funeral.

Frank L. Croddy, 81, died at 7:45 p.m. Monday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Bernie Pruet, on Road 52 southeast of Rushville. He had been ill since Friday. He had been a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge at Clarksburg the last 40 years.

Survivors besides Mrs. Pruet, are two daughters, Mrs. Bertha French, Shelbyville, and Mrs. Clem Pruet of Connersville; a son, John Croddy, of Franklin county; a brother, A. J. Croddy, of Blair Neb.; the sisters, Mrs. Ella Smith, of Anderson, Indiana, Mrs. Mary Senour and Mrs. Anna Clark of Andersonville, Mrs. Stella Davison of Laurel and Mrs. Kate French of Rushville; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted this Thursday afternoon at the United Brethren church at Andersonville, with the Rev. Walter Crawley officiating. Burial was in Hopewell cemetery.
