Mr. Amberg, a petroleum salesman for the Macon County Service Co., was elected to the county board in 1959.
He was a Harristown resident before moving to Warrensburg in 1950.
Mr. Amberg was born Feb. 4, 1898 in Logan County, son of Nicholas and Hannah Musick Amberg. He married Grace Hinkle on September 18, 1921 at Des Moines, IA. She survives.
Also surviving are his sons, Walter W., of Sacramento, CA., and Donald R., of Decatur; sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Bernice) Leesman, of Atlanta, Mrs. Lula Scroggins, of Decatur, and Mrs. Leland (Myrtle) Norfleet, of Kenosha, WI.; brothers, Clarence, of Atlanta, Clifton, of Maroa, and Paul, of McLean; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
One brother preceded him in death.
Mr. Amberg was a member of the Macon County Farm Bureau, the Illinois Welfare Association, the Warrensburg Lions Club, I.O.O.F. Lodge and volunteer fire department, and was past president of the Warrensburg Sportsman's Club.
He served in the Army during World War I.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Monson Funeral Home, where friends may call after 5 p.m. today. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
