Elizabeth Keeton, 72, a longtime Casa Grande resident, died Aug. 28, 2002 at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Casa Grande Chapel. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at New Hope Baptist Church, with the Rev. Grady Whatley officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Elizabeth was born Sept. 1, 1929 in Corsicana, Texas. She attended Casa Grande's old "colored" school under the instruction of Curtis and Rebekah Dallis and graduated from high school. She was a habitation technician at Arizona Training Program at Coolidge for 24 years before retirement in 1994.
She loved her time with friends and family. She attended New Hope Baptist Church and First Shiloh Baptist Church.
Survivors include six daughters: Laura Mims, Curlie Smith, LaDonna Allamby, Areatha Davis, all of Casa Grande, Verta Harris-Tucker, of Phoenix, and Ruthie Keeton, of Houston, TX; three sons: Kevin Elmus and Rodney Keeton, both of Casa Grande, and Robert Keeton, of El Mirage, CA; one grandson she raised, Elmus Thompson, of Casa Grande; 16 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmus, in 1990.
