Marvin L. Cartwright Sr., age 76, of Gladstone, MI died October 20, 2006 at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Marvin Cartwright was born January 2, 1930 in Gladstone the son of Clarence "Beaver" and Hazel (Johnson) Cartwright. He was raised in Escanaba and attended Escanaba High School of which he graduated from in 1948. Marvin was united in marriage to the former Lillian "Chum" Dufour on November 18, 1951. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge in 1954 he joined the Boilermaker's Local Union 169 where he had worked in Bay City and Muskegon, MI prior to moving back to Gladstone in 1955. He worked for 13 years for the Escanaba Power Plant before returning to Local Union 169, he retired in 1992.
Marvin was a member and Past Commander of the Gladstone American Legion Post #71 and he enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He loved working in his garage especially on automotives. In his younger years he enjoyed music and played in a local band and he was also involved with the Escanaba Skating Club.

3 Daughters: Penny McKnight of Madison, WI; Christine Wolf of St. Petersburg, FL; Tammy (Jerry) Harris of Gladstone
1 Step-son: Mike (Ella) Malenfant of Gladstone
1 Step-daug: Debbie Woodworth of Jackson, MI
1 Sister: Kay (Rodney) VanBrocklin of Gladstone
18 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren
1st wife: Lillian "Chum" of Gladstone
