He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years Gail M. (Gibbons) Ryan, whom he married in Buffalo, New York. Dr. Ryan is also survived by three brothers, Dennis D. (Lois) Ryan, Barry D. (Kelsie) Ryan, and Evan C. (Mary Ann) Ryan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born in Brockport, New York on January 27, 1949 the son of Evan W. and Annabelle (Weitz) Ryan, who preceded him in death. Dr. Ryan received his PhD. in biochemistry at the University of Iowa in 1976.
Funeral service will be held at the Brown-Dawson Funeral Home, 1350 Millville Avenue, on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Dennis Riddick, Pastor of Twinbrook Hills Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
