Funeral services for J. Horace Spore, 84, who died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday in Wabash Nursing Home, Mt. Carmel, Ill., were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Holder Funeral Home in Owensville. Services were conducted by Rev. R. Gene Sloat and burial was in Owensville Cemetery.
He was born in Gibson county, near Owensville, June 9, 1883, and lived in the community his entire life. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Owensvillle.
Surviving are two sons, Robert of Evansville, and Gerald L. of Bloomington; a daughter, Mrs. James Cunningham of Ft. Branch; two sisters, Mrs. Ada Bingham, Princeton and Mrs. Earl Smith of Owensville; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
