PELLA, IA. - Services will be at 10: JO a.m. Friday at Second Reformed Church here for Clarence B. "Babe" Caldwell 65, mayor of Pella, who died of cancer Tuesday at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Caldwell was a Pella resident since 1946 and was owner of Ideal Pharmacy. He was mayor of Pella the past 17 years and before that served 14 years as a city councilman. He attended the Drake University school of pharmacy and was a member of the state board of pharmacy examiners nine years and served as pharmacist of Pella Community Hospital for several years. He was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge, Kiwanis Club and Pella Golf and County Club. Survivors include his wife, Sara; four sons, Tim W. of Quincy, 111., Joel B. of Des Moines, Scott D. of Pella and Kirk M. of San Francisco, Calif.; a sister, Sarah Aubuchon of Florissant, Mo.; and sii grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to City of Pella Recreation Commission. Friends may. call today at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.mi and 7 to 9 p.m. today.
