Charles Edward Edds, father of M. C. Edds, doctor of Van Buren, Arkansas, died suddenly Saturday afternoon, January 20, 1962, from a heart seizure suffered at his home at Blytheville, Arkansas. He was 73 years old. Mr Edds was in the insurance business for forty years and had lived at Blytheville since 1936.

He was a member of the First Baptist church and was a Mason. He was born at Kirby, Arkansas (Pike county).

Survivors include his wife, two sons, Edward of Chicago and Millard of Van Buren; two daughters, Edith of West Memphis and Evelyn of North Little Rock; two brothers, Chester of Hot Springs and Earl of Malvern; four sisters, Bessie of Malvern, Elma of North Little Rock and Eula and Myrtle, both of California and nine grandchildren.

Funeral service was at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist church in Blytheville by Dr. John McClanahan. Burial was in Elmwood cemetery by Cobb Funeral Service.
