SEILING, Ruth Kathleen Bender Bennett, RN - Nov. 2, 1925 - Jan. 9, 2009. Ruth passed away peacefully and courageously, following her latest stroke. Ruth has touched the lives of her family, friends and 'Freundschaft' through her unshakeable faith, love of life, dedication to nursing, learning and things historical (so many books, so little time!). Predeceased by her parents Edward Bender and Leah Brubacher, her siblings Earl, Marie and Lorne and her first husband Leroy Bennett. Dearly beloved wife of Fred Seiling for 27 years. Cherished mom of Philip of New York, Lois (William) of Toronto; step-mom of Ron (Jeanette), David (Nancy), Terry (Ruth) all from Elora/Elmira and Jeff (Penny) of B.C.; and mother-in law of Carolyn. Loving Grandma to Amie, Alan and Geoffrey of Mississauga; Leah, Evan and Stuart of Toronto; Jonathan (Melissa) of St. Catharines; Rebecca (Derek), David (Shannon), Bethany (Brandan), Nathan (Tania), Matthew (Sarah), Michael (Stacy), Adam, all of the Kitchener-Waterloo area, Greg (Sarah) currently serving in the Philippines, and Darcy, Ryan, Kevin, Travis and Ward of British Columbia. Great-grandma to seven (almost eight). Aunt Ruthie to her cherished nieces and nephews, mostly of Kitchener-Waterloo. Thanks to the caring and compassionate doctors, nurses and staff of the 4th Floor West of the Guelph General Hospital. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Sunday (2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held at Parkview Church, 89 Speedvale Ave. W., Guelph on Monday, January 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment Memory Gardens, Breslau. Reception to follow in the church hall. Memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 204-21 Surrey St. W., Guelph N1H 3R3 or World Vision Canada, 1 World Dr., Mississauga L5T 2Y4 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
