Died: Owston - in Claremont, September 11. Newton F. Owston. Aged 74 years, 5 months, and 7 days. The death of Newton F. Owston occurred Tuesday at his home in Puckershire at the age of 74.

He was a native of Allegheny City, Pennsylvania, and a locomotive engineer for many years, coming to Claremont in 1906. He held church membership at St. Luke's at Charlestown.

Surviving him a widow; a daughter, Martha of Barberton, Ohio; and three sons, Ralph of this town and Charles and Ovington, both of Barberton.

Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at two o'clock at the Stoughton Funeral Home, 139 Broad Street. Rev. Leland B. Chase will officiate and interment will be in the Mountain View Cemetery.

The cause of his death - senility with the contributing factor of fractured ribs (he fell against an open stove door).

His half brother (James Humprheys Owston) back in Pittsburgh died a few hours later - they hadn't seen each other at least 30 years.
