MINNEAPOLIS -- Raymond P. Nunn, 75, Minneapolis, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at Ottawa County Health Center, Minneapolis.

Mr. Nunn was born Aug. 7, 1925, at Niles and was a resident of Minneapolis since 1968, moving from Solomon. He was a retired grain elevator manager and a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars, all of Minneapolis.

He was preceded in death by a son, Raymond "Pat" Jr., in 1994.

Survivors include his wife, Mildred R. of the home; a son, Martin E. of Bennington; a daughter, Bonnie J. Neubrand of Salina; two brothers, Frank of Wichita and Charles of Abilene; three sisters, Mary Toothman and Lavina Daily, both of Salina, and Cora Herrington of Minneapolis; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Shields Funeral Home, Minneapolis, the Rev. Ken Lohrmeyer officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Greenville Cemetery, Niles.

A vigil will be at 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, 405 Argyle, Minneapolis 67467.

Memorials may be made to Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Cancer Fund or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Visitation will be after 9 a.m. today and before the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Raymond was first married to Estella Izora Edwards on 24 Dec 1943, Salina, KS. They were expecting their first child when they were involved in an automobile accident on February 15, 1946, that took the lives of Estella and their infant son.
