MARIE BLACK
Funeral services for Marie A. Black, 71, of 1362 Sublette St., were held Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Vase Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. John Johansen of the Trinity Lutheran Church officiating.
Interment was in the Rest Haven Memorial Gardens north of Rock Springs.
Pallbearers were Jim Black, Denis Black, Ray Paul Black, Dan August, Bill Miller and Robert Flansburg.
Mrs. Black died Oct. 10 at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County, where she had been a patient for three days.
A longtime resident of Rock Springs, Mrs. Black had been in ill health the past six months. She was born in Diamondville, on Dec. 20, 1907, the daughter of the late Guerino and Mary Castellani Anelli.
She attended schools in Kemmerer and was a graduate of the Kemmerer High School with the class of 1926. She married Harry Black in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 1, 1930.
Mr. and Mrs. Black were the former owners of the Hansen's Floral Shop and Mrs. Black worked as a clerk for several Rock Springs merchants. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her husband, Harry; one son, Ray L. Black, both of Rock Springs; two step-grandchildren, William H. Miller Jr. and Mrs. Robert (Cathy) Flansburg, both of Rock Springs; four grandchildren, Jim and Denis Black, both of Rock Springs and Ray Paul Black and Mrs. Dan (Lory) August, both of Worland; a great-grandson, Brian Black of Rock Springs; two step-grandsons, Justin and Skyland Flansburg, both of Rock Springs; one nephew and several nieces also survive.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Black was preceded in death by one brother, John Anelli of Kemmerer, who died in 1974.
