Listed on the Official Roster of the Soldiers of the State of Ohio and the Roll of Honor of Ohio Soldiers.

Bennett Manley enlisted on Oct 14, 1864 as a Private, giving his age as 18. On that date he mustered in as a substitute into B Co. OH 33rd Infantry. Wounded Mar 19, 1865 Bentonville, NC, he died of wounds on Apr 3, 1865 at Goldsboro, NC.

The son of Samuel Manley and Mary Ann Barton of Meigs County, Ohio, Bennett and his two older brothers, John S. and Jonas Manley were all killed in the Civil War. Their brother Isaac T. Manley returned to the family but with many health problems that lasted throughout his life.

I have found no record of a wife or children for Bennett Manley. Known siblings were John S., Betsey, Jonas, Isaac T., Jasper Newton, Hettie, William, Harriett, and Lauda Shepherd Manley.
